"The Arms Control Association’s work is an important resource to legislators and policymakers when contemplating a new policy direction or decision."
Inside the Arms Control Association
- Many people in the United States and around the globe are justifiably concerned about the risk of nuclear war following continued, thinly veiled nuclear threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin. In response, our Arms Control Association team has been working overtime.
- The 10th NPT Review Conference finally convened Aug. 1 and ACA has been on the ground at the conference to meet with key governmental delegations, speak at expert side events and panel discussions, and press for meaningful outcomes.
- Given the growing risk of nuclear war, we must do all we can to make the first meeting of TPNW states-parties and the upcoming NPT Review Conference a turning point - moving away from dangerous nuclear policies and arms racing and turning instead toward renewed and productive disarmament diplomacy.
- It is very difficult to encapsulate five decades of work for any organization, but the array of panelists and speakers, along with video messages from special guests, to our 50th Anniversary meeting underscored the enduring value of persistent, smart civil society efforts to deliver information and solutions to reduce and eventually eliminate the existential threats posed by nuclear weapons. Plus, we got a note from Joe!
