June 9-10: Top U.S.-Iranian Officials Hold Bilateral Meeting on Nuclear Issue
A senior team of senior U.S. diplomats lead by Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns and Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will hold bilateral consultations with their Iranian counterparts today and tomorrow (June 9-10) in Geneva in an effort to accelerate progress toward a final nuclear accord by July 20.

June 10: Expert Panel on Iran Nuclear Talks, 9:30am at the Wilson Center
A consortium of eight Washington think tanks and organizations will hold the second in a series of expert briefings about the ongoing talks among world powers regarding Iran's nuclear program.
This event, "Nuclear Flashpoints: U.S.-Iran Tensions Over Terms and Timetables," will focus on the framework for the agreement, breakout" estimates and options for limiting uranium enrichment capacity, as well as Iran's expectations for phasing-out sanctions.
The event will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m., at the Woodrow Wilson Center, Sixth Floor, Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW in Washington, D.C..
Speakers include former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, Daryl Kimball of the Arms Control Association, Robert Litwak of the Woodrow Wilson International Center, and Jon Wolfsthal of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. RSVP online.
June 10: House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on Iran's Nuclear Compliance

June 16-20: P5+1 and Iranian Political Directors Talks Resume in Vienna
The next round of talks between six world powers and Iran on a comprehensive agreement to ensure that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively peaceful will be held in Vienna from June 16 to 20.

June 22: U.S. Plans Ground-Based Strategic Ballistic Missile Interceptor Test
The U.S. Missile Defense Agency is planning to conduct a test of its Ground-based interceptor missile, CE-II, on June 22, according to Reuters . The CE-I and CE-II interceptors are currently deployed at the two sites on the West Coast, yet continue to fail recent tests and have yet to be tested under a realistic threat scenario.
J. Michael Gilmore, the Pentagon's director of operational test and evaluation, has called for a redesign of the interceptors instead of continuing to invest billions in a missile defense system that has failed to demonstrate its desired capability. For more information and analysis, see:
