Tony Fleming was the Director for Communications and Operations at the Arms Control Association from June 2016 to August 2024.
As a member of the senior management team, Tony managed the organization's knowledge management systems and staff training, provided support to members and journalists, and assisted with development efforts and overall office operations. In addition, he produced the Association's web and social media content and managed its email marketing efforts.
Tony has over 25 years of experience in managing nonprofit operations and board governance, implementing robust advocacy and media strategies, and supporting strategic communications and fundraising efforts.
From 2008-2016, he served on the board of directors and, subsequently, as the program & policy director for Citizens for Global Solutions. In 2006, he created UNSG.org through which he provided the only comprehensive online coverage of the processes, candidates, and selection of the eighth United Nations Secretary-General. Following, he expanded this work to include a range of high-level multilateral contests at GlobalMemo.org, offering updates and commentary on candidate qualifications, government positions, and reform proposals as well.
He received his Masters in Public Policy with a concentration in International Security from the University of Maryland in 2006.
